 The angel of the LORD also said to Hagar: You are now pregnant and you will give birth to a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and will live in hostility toward all his brothers. Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael. 耶和華的使者對她說: " 看哪，你已經懷了孕，你要生一個兒子；你要給他起名叫以實瑪利，因為耶和華聽見了你的苦情。他將來為人，必像野驢。他的手要攻打人，人的手也要攻打他。他必住在眾兄弟的東面。" 亞伯蘭八十六歲的時候，夏甲給他生了以實瑪利。 Note: Was God faithful to Abram? Why? 後記:  對亞伯蘭來說，上帝是信實的嗎? 為什麼?

        The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur. And he said, " Hagar, slave of Sarai, where have you come from, and where are you going?"        "I am running away from my mistress Sarai," she answered.         Then the angel of the LORD told her, "Go back to your mistress and submit to her."          耶和華的使者在曠野的水泉旁邊，就是在到書珥路上的水旁邊，遇到了她，就問她：撒萊的婢女夏甲啊，你從哪裡來? 要到哪裡去?" 夏甲回答:          "我從我的主母撒萊面前逃出來。"           耶和華的使者對她說："回到你主母那裏去，服在她手下!"        Note: What did the angel of the LORD do? Do you adore him? Why? 後記: 耶和華的使者做了甚麼事? 你會愛慕他嗎? 為甚麼呢?

  As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him. Then the LORD said to him, "Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions. You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. 日落的時候，亞伯蘭沉沉地睡著了，忽然有可怕的大黑暗落在他身上。耶和華對亞伯蘭說："你要確實地知道，你的後裔必在外地寄居，也必服事那地的人，那地的人苦待他們四百年。他們所要服事的那國，我要親自懲罰。後來他們必帶著很多財物，從那裡出來。你必得享長壽，被人埋葬，平平安安地回到你列祖那裏。 Note:  Has the LORD ever come to your dream and said to you?  If yes, what did he say? Does it mean you know God?  If not, why has the LORD never come to your dream and said to you? 後記: 上帝曾經在你的夢中臨到你並對你說話嗎? 如果是的話，上帝對你說了甚麼話呢? 這樣，是表示你是認識上帝的嗎? 如果不是，為什麼上帝不曾在你的夢中臨到你並對你說話呢?

 " Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward." Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness. "亞伯蘭，你不要懼怕， 我是你的盾牌； 你的賞賜是很大的。" 亞伯蘭信耶和華，耶和華就以此算為他的義了。 Note: Do you know God and believe he is faithful? 後記: 請問你認識上帝嗎? 而且相信上帝是信實的?

        So Abram said to Lot, " Let's not have any quarreling between you and me, or between your herders and mine, for we are close relatives. Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to  the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left.        亞伯蘭就對羅得說："你我之間，切不可紛爭；你的牧人和我的牧人之間，也不可紛爭，因為我門是至親。全地不都是在你面前嗎? 請你離開我吧! 你若向左，我就向右；你若向右，我就向左。" Note: The people around you, and your relatives, who would follow to stay together with you without permission, and provoke deliberately, or do the same things as you without respect?  Why did they do that? How do you deal with situations with wisdom? When you deal with them, did God go with you?  後記: 你身邊的親友或在你附近的人們，那些人會尾隨你處在一起，故意挑釁；或者隨後與你做同樣的事呢? 他們為什麼那樣做? 你如何以智慧處理這樣的事呢? 當你處理這樣的事情的時候，上帝有與你同在嗎?

 But the LORD inflicted serious diseases on Pharaoh and his household because of Abram's wife Sarai. So Pharaoh summoned Abram, "What have you done to me?" he said, "Why didn't you tell me she was your wife? Why did you say, 'She is my sister,' so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife. Take her and go!" Then Pharaoh gave orders about Abram to his men, and they sent him on his way, with his wife and everything he had. 耶和華因為亞伯蘭的妻子撒萊的緣故，就用嚴重的災病打擊法老和他的全家。  於是，法老把亞伯蘭召了來，對他說： " 你向我作的是甚麼? 妳為甚麼不告訴我她是你的妻子呢？你為什麼說她是你的妹妹，以致我娶了她作妻子呢？ 現在，你的妻子在這裡，帶她走吧! " 法老為了亞伯蘭的事吩咐臣僕，他們就把亞伯蘭和他的妻子，以及他所有的一切都送走了。 Note:  1. What is the reason the LORD had the call of Abram? 2. According to the above paragraph, who is the Child of God? Why? 註記:  1. 為什麼耶和華使亞伯蘭蒙召? 2.  根據上述的章節，哪一位才是上帝之子呢? 為甚麼呢?

    Abram traveled through the land of Canaan as far as the site of the great tree of Moreh at Shechem. At that time the Canaanites were in the land. The LORD appeared to Abram and said, "To your offspring I will give this land." So he built an altar there to the LORD, who had appeared to him. 亞伯蘭穿過迦南，到了示劍的地方，摩利的橡樹那裡。當時，迦南人住在那地。  耶和華向亞伯蘭顯現，說：  "我要把這地賜給你的後裔。" 亞伯蘭就在那裡為向他顯現的耶和華築了一座祭壇。

  The Lord had said to Abram, "Go from your country, your people and your father's household to the land I will show you. "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. 耶和華對亞伯蘭說："你要離開本地、本族、父家，到我指示你的地方去。"我必使你成為大國，賜福給你，使你的名為大，你也必使別人得福，給你祝福的，我必賜福給他；咒詛你的，我必咒詛他；地上萬族，都必因你得福。" Note: Why can Abram hear the calling from God? 註記：為什麼亞伯蘭聽得到上帝對他說的話呢?

   I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.    So God said to Noah, "This is the sign of the covenant I have established between me and all life on the earth."      我把彩虹放在雲彩中，作我與大地立約的記號。我使雲彩遮蓋大地時，彩虹出現在雲彩中，我就記念我與你們和一切有生命的活物所立的約：水不再成為洪水，來毀滅凡有生命的。彩虹在雲彩中出現，我看見了就記念我與地上一切有生命的活物，所立的永約。          神對挪亞說："這就是我與地上凡有生命的立約的記號。" Note:  Have you ever seen the rainbow high in the sky? If yes, why have you been able to see it? If not, why have you never seen? 後記: 請問你是否曾經見過彩虹高掛在天空中? 如果是，為什麼你能夠看見呢? ...

 Then God blessed Noah and his sons, saying to them. "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. Whoever sheds human blood,  by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind. 神賜福給挪亞和他的兒子，對他們說："你們要繁衍增多，充滿大地。" 流人血的，人也必流他的血； 因為  神造人， 是按著他自己的形象。

  As long as the earth endures,  seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease." "大地尚存之日， 播種、收割， 寒暑、 冬夏、 白晝和黑夜 必然循環不息。"

 The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled..... "...for I regret that I have made them." But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. 耶和華看見人在地上的罪惡很大，終日心裡思念的，盡都是邪惡的。於是，耶和華後悔造人在地上，心中憂傷。... "...因為我後悔造了他們。" 只有挪亞在耶和華面前蒙恩。

  When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose. Then the LORD said, " My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years." The Nephilim were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown. 人在地上開始增多，又生養女兒的時候，  神的眾子看見人的女子美麗，就隨意挑選，娶作妻子。耶和華說："人既然是屬肉體的，我的靈就不永遠住在他裡面，但他的日子還有一百二十年。" 在那些日子和以後的日子，有巨人在地上：  神的兒子和人的女子結合，就生了上古英武有名的人物。
